The Dräger PARAT® 5550 is a fire escape hood in a foil bag, which was specially developed for the fire brigade for rescuing people in the event of a fire. The special added value: The combination of fire escape hood and holster is approved together with the Dräger compressed air breathing apparatus as a system according to EN 137:2006, type 2. Since it is not always clear from the outset whether there are people in the fire, it is advisable to always have a fire escape hood with you. Fire escape hoods protect persons to be rescued from highly toxic fire gases such as CO as well as vapours and particles for at least 15 minutes. The PARAT 5550 can also save lives in the event of a respiratory protection emergency: Due to its quick readiness for use, it reliably protects the respirator wearer from toxic fire gases, for example, in the event of an interruption in the air supply.
